Picture Your Story: Enhancing Text with Visual Art
with Glenn Jason Hanna
When writing pieces that contain pictures such as picture books, graphic novels, comic and the like, it not simply a case of adding in art to poetry or prose. The marrying of words and pictures requires the writer think of their story in terms of both, letting each do what it does best.
In this workshop, long time CBW-LA member Glenn Hanna will teach the different strategies he employs to create his picture books, graphic novels, poetic words that have illustrations and comics. This is not a talk on how to draw but more on how to conceive of your story as pictures as well as words so that you can write the words that will best go with the pictures, whether you’re the person who eventually draws them or not.
